Water Molecule Magnetic Model

Water Molecule Magnetic Model

thingiverse

This is a cheap alternative water molecule model for demonstrating hydrogen bonds, polarity, and water molecule interactions. This model can be printed with the hydrogen and oxygen parts separately, allowing for color coding if desired. Magnets can be fitted in the outer indents in order to add the water interactions.Superglue is recommended for attaching the magnets to the model, and make sure to orient the magnets correctly! The Hydrogen models don't need superglue to connect to the oxygen, much like other models on the market. They should just slide on and stay, and can be removed, but if loose, glue can be used to permanently attach them as well. The magnets used are circular 4mm by 1mm neodymium magnets. When printing, printing in batches (covering the baseplate) is recommended. In addition, supports are required for this print, and tree supports might not be very effective due to the scale. Be sure to remove supports from hydrogen molecule magnet slots!Modeled and made by William Caron
