15.10.18 UPDATE: I successfully printed it in the designed size and it worked just fine! You will simply need to create your own impeller (15mm Dia and around 30-35° Pitch) :) I'm overwhelmed by the amount of downloads, and I hope you'll have fun with it ^-^ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've always wanted to build my own RC-Waterjet engine. Since last year, this project had been in the pipeline, but a hard drive crash wiped out all my data, so here we go again. It took me about 60 hours (which is equivalent to one week without sleep :D ) to design, test, and improve it, but now it works far better than I wanted, lightweight and incredibly strong - all parts will always withstand hitting the floor from over 1.5m. I've tested it numerous times, not intentionally but yeah.. i did. You'll need 3 ball bearings with 2x7x3 or 3x7x3mm size for the shaft. 2 or 3 mm V2A shaft - I tried 3mm carbon and it simply exploded from the torque. 300 brushless motor or 540BD motor with an RPM goal of 20k or higher. 0.3mm carbon or aluminum for the struts (black in the pictures). It's a standard 30mm impeller size. Mine is tested and tuned to run in a two-impeller setup, and epoxy holds it easily to the shaft. The waterjet works just like a real one - when the boat speeds up and lifts up, the jet will already be at self-drawing speed. Feel free to design your own impeller based on my CAD file if you want; I made it fully editable (if you have a little experience with Fusion).
