Water Filtering Straw
myminifactory
This concept emerged after realizing that much of the water surrounding us throughout our lives or in different locations around the world is not potable, except for a few exceptional cases. Consequently, we decided to design an object that would be affordable, easy to print, sustainable, and useful for its filtering function. The shape was intended to be both functional and distinctive, with triangles serving a practical purpose - they help prevent the object from tipping over - while also being based on the same corners of the water molecule (104.45 degrees) to remind users of the object's purpose: preserving the planet's most vital resource, which is essential for life: water. Note on assembly: The object can be printed separately and then assembled by attaching the top filter to the container and a collector under the block created, allowing for easy removal and fitting into a bottle designed specifically to accommodate it. A smooth passage is achieved through tangency. When adding material to the filters, a more careful approach is necessary: in the filter closest to the collector, a sediment filter (ceramic balls) should be added; the second filter should have particulate filter (glass balls); and the last filter should be active carbon (placed near the top). Each of these filters should be wrapped in tissue filter. These filters can be easily purchased on various online websites.
