Water Filter Wrench
thingiverse
This is a replacement for a water filter wrench that I've come up with after realizing its original design was no longer compatible with the filter box's fins, which couldn't be securely attached to properly unscrew the filter box. The original filter box had eight fins around it, each with just 1mm of flange. The original wrench had a diameter of 120mm, taking into account the flanges, while this new tool has a 119mm diameter in its model and about 117-118mm when printed with ABS and processed according to a strengthening procedure. Despite its smaller size, it still fits perfectly on the filter box fins due to their cone shape. The forces that can be applied to the wrench are quite high, so I recommend using a durable filament. The expected force to apply is around 30N*m (or approximately 30kg at the end of a 0.1m handle). To print this wrench, you'll need a printer bed with a minimum size of 200x200 mm, as it needs to be printed along its diagonal. The weight of the wrench from ABS is 78g, compared to the original wrench's 69g, so it didn't waste much more plastic. PS: The wrench successfully unscrewed the filter with a force of 5-10kg applied to the handle.
