Bekesy-104 This stunning octagonal porcelain water dropper boasts a domed upper surface and stands proudly on a sturdy foot. A small venting hole is cleverly positioned at the top, allowing for effortless pouring. At the center of one of its eight sides, a convenient spout makes it easy to dispense water. The beautifully crafted upper surface features a delicate flower and leaf design, exquisitely painted with cobalt blue outlining the flower and copper red filling in the petals. Leaves are tastefully placed in four of the eight corners, while a subtle blue line adds definition to the octagonal edge. The glaze is richly thick and has a lovely bluish tint. Unfortunately, it has curdled in several areas, adding character to this unique piece. A faint residue of kiln sand can be seen on the footrim, serving as a reminder of its journey through the kiln. Although the spout was once broken, skilled restoration has returned it to its former glory.
