Water cooling block
pinshape
Summary This is my concept for an affordable watercooling block designed specifically for M6 tubes. Currently, it's highly experimental in nature. My primary goal was to minimize the size and weight of hotends to their absolute smallest dimensions. If this design proves successful, you can potentially eliminate heatsinks from hotends altogether. A completed hotend would then consist of this block, a $1 Chinese tube, heatblock, and nozzle. The proposed height is 16mm, with optimal printing settings required to achieve the finest resolution possible in order to ensure the tubes are strong enough. Features Grooves at both bottom and top for rubber fitment Compact size: 16mm in height, 16mm in width 2.5 circles designed to maximize surface area for water cooling Update - October 10th, 2015 Inprint supports have been added to the design to prevent the slicer from attempting to print internal supports within the tubes. Print Settings Rafts: Not Required Supports: Yes Resolution: .1 or as fine as possible Infill: 100% Notes: This model should be printed solid and with high resolution to withstand mechanical stress and heat from the heatblock.
