Water bowl feeder
thingiverse
Human: Keeps a water bowl topped up regularly. You provide the bowl and the water bottle yourself. Drilling out the cap is necessary, see instructions carefully beforehand. There are several designs for these water bowls available on Thingiverse, which typically print both the bowl and the bottle holder together. However, I preferred one that would attach to the side of my existing water bowl. Additionally, I chose to integrate the bottle's original cap rather than printing a separate thread. STEP and Fusion 360 files are provided for varying dimensions if desired. Updated: Version two files feature an extra hook on the lip for added stability against unwanted nudges from the side when the bowl is positioned. This was also accompanied by redesigning the model to streamline its design history while incorporating more parameterized dimensions into the sketches. Updated: V3 of the cap holder includes a lengthened back wall, which enhances contact with the bottle cap and ensures better grip. Users can choose between printing two separate pieces or a single print. Updated: The version four water bowl attachment features an enclosed hold that maximizes surface area for a stronger grip on the cap. This replaces the unnecessary vents present in earlier designs. If you possess a Dremel, you should check out my drill bit for bottle caps to adapt your existing bottles quickly. Instructions Firstly, take the water bottle cap and enlarge the opening at the top. Ensure it is as large as feasible. If larger bits aren't available, use larger materials until it accommodates pouring without squeezing or jostling when inverted upside down. If your bottle's cap has a diameter under 31mm, apply adhesive for mounting to its outer end, ensuring firm adhesion that withstands shear forces from repeated opening and closing. I applied epoxy generously along half the cap's surface before attaching it firmly to its position. Three STLs are offered, allowing users to either print the full part together or separate parts that need gluing. Print the arm one-sided down while positioning the mount upside-down for correct orientation
