Water bottle tote, Stars
thingiverse
I design another water bottle tote, this one featuring stars in its base. The print process takes place in two distinct sections, which are then attached using acetone, commonly found in nail polish remover. To add functionality, I incorporate a ring from a keychain and a simple carabiner clip. It's worth noting that not all water bottles are created equal. My experience has shown that bottles sourced from Costco, specifically the Kirkland brand, possess slightly larger bases and fail to slide into the tote with ease. The inner diameter of the tote measures 67mm or approximately 2.64 inches. To ensure universal compatibility, you may wish to scale up the STL file by a percentage or two. Additionally, if you decide to print this design in multiple colors, be cautious not to change filaments once the long shaft begins printing. This is because the cooling of the plastic during filament changes can result in a weak joint where the two colors meet, making it more prone to breaking. Printer Settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No rafts are used Supports: The use of supports is not necessary Resolution: A resolution of .20mm is employed Infill: An infill percentage of 20-25% is utilized Notes: Printing without supports yields satisfactory results. However, using a couple of supports for the top section loop can improve its print quality, though it's not strictly necessary. To assemble the tote, attach the top and bottom sections by applying acetone to both parts and then brushing additional acetone onto the joints for enhanced adhesion.
