Water Bag Valve Cap

Water Bag Valve Cap

thingiverse

I use a cap designed specifically for MSR dromedary bags that comes with a valve attached. The valve was discovered lying on some discarded trash deep in the wilderness but I suspect it's often used in boxed wine packages, which can be easily removed by soaking it in boiling water. This particular cap is compatible with various water bottles including Nalgene, Camelbak, and other brands that have similar threading although I find it puzzling why anyone would use such a product on one of these standard issue water containers. I employed WoodWax to give the plastic cap enhanced water repellency properties as well as to make sure that any liquids coming into contact with it remain safe for consumption. If WoodWax proves to be unreliable, another suitable option could be chapstick but I have not yet had a chance to experiment with this approach. Printing the design in the format provided should give satisfactory results without the need for support materials.
