I'll be completely open about this coaster's origins; it was born from a combination of buying the Watchmen blu-ray, which boasts a story so captivating that even Zak Snyder's direction couldn't ruin it, and having an abundance of sky-blue filament I wanted to utilize. Being transparent with your audience is always the best approach, don't you agree? Anyway, one of my favorite characters in the Watchmen series is Dr Manhattan, a former nuclear scientist who was vaporized in an Intrinsic Field Subtractor - a term that sounds like authentic science fiction jargon - and learned to reassemble himself into a superpowered being with godlike abilities. By doing so, he lost his humanity, eventually becoming apathetic about the world's fate and mankind's destiny altogether. This is what makes Dr Manhattan such a tragic character, which is precisely why the entire Watchmen series is so engaging. This coaster won't grant you the power to create diamonds on Mars or obliterate someone with your mind (that would be unsettling), but it will keep your table spotless.
