Watchmaker's Hammer
thingiverse
After months of printing plastics, I finally decided to try bronze and wood fillaments. I designed a simple tiny hammer where both materials could be combined in perfect harmony. My goal was to create something functional and durable, which ultimately paid off beautifully. Check out the video for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvABSyP7et8 Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: i3 Prusa mk2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 80 Notes: The hammer boasts 7 solid layers on top and bottom, plus 4 sturdy perimeters, making it incredibly durable. For the handle, I chose the same infill percentage - 80% - to match its strength. Every other print parameter was set to standard settings, with not a single issue arising. Post-Printing: The hammer only required a light touch of gentle sandpaper for finishing. Any common metal polishing paste would suffice to give it a shiny finish. The shaft, meanwhile, benefited from a fine-grit sandpaper for a silky smooth surface.
