The pfSense boxes are easily created by upgrading the WatchGuard Firebox series of firewall appliances. One popular upgrade is to replace the open frame power supply that ships with them with a PicoPSU DC-DC unit. This designer designed this blanking plate to fit into the chassis opening after removing the IEC mains socket and supplied PSU, allowing for a clean and simple mounting of the DC socket for the PicoPSU unit. By cutting the existing mains switch leads, users can utilize that with the PicoPSU unit and have power supply switching on the unit as well. This designer has only tested this blanking plate against two Firebox units; an X550e and an X5500e. It is suspected to work without any problem in all X-Peak-e/X-core-e range units, since they share chassis design, and possibly with other units in the Firebox range. This designer did not personally 3D print this design because they do not own a 3D printer yet. Instead, they used a London-based 3D printing service (3D Print UK) who did an excellent job at a reasonable cost with good turn-around time.
