Watch Stand with Storage and Display Box
thingiverse
This is a spring-loaded watch holder/stand. Simply squeeze it together, place your watch on it, and let go - the spring will hold it snugly in place. Included with this stand is a box that the stand and watch can fit into for storage. I've also added a 1mm recess to the top of the box, matching the size of the base of the stand, so that the stand won't slide around when placed on top of the closed box. The idea behind this design was to create a spring-loaded stand that adjusts to different watch sizes. When printed at 100% scale, it will accommodate watches ranging from 7 inches (178mm) to about 8-1/2 inches (215mm). The spring used is 2-1/4 inches (58mm) long with an inner diameter of 1/4 inch (6mm), and it's essential not to use a too-stiff spring. To assemble the stand, print it as it loads into your slicer. However, please note that the box itself does not require support, but the stand parts do need some support during printing. Before assembling the stand, lubricate its sliding parts, then place the spring on the base and squeeze the legs of the top together just enough to get them to fit together. Work the parts back and forth until they smooth out. ETA: I almost forgot to mention that you'll need to carefully separate the top of the box from the rest of it by inserting a knife between them and working your way around until it comes loose.
