Watch Movement Holder
thingiverse
This is a DIY printable watch movement holder, modeled after a well-known design. Although it's not an exact replica due to personal restrictions, this project provides a great opportunity to hone fusion skills, particularly in joint and motion links. The top section can accommodate movements measuring up to 40+ mm, while the bottom is suited for smaller movements. When choosing a spring, select one that matches the largest and smallest distance between the clamps required. While printing is just one aspect of this holder, it's worth noting that other necessary components (in metric measurements) are readily available at local hardware stores. Some minor support material will be needed during the printing process for the recessed hole in the washer and carriage bolt. Additionally, reaming the 3mm holes is crucial to ensure smooth movement, while blind holes should remain tight. As an optional step, you can glue the 3mm rods into place using cyanoacrylate. Required materials include: * A 10mm OD spring * A 5mm x 80mm carriage bolt (length flexibility is allowed; just remember to account for spring length) * An M5 x 18mm OD washer * An M5 thumb screw * Two 3mm stainless steel rods (these can be sourced from old tape decks and trimmed to size) Once complete, please share your thoughts on this project.
