Watch Mainspring Barrel Closer

Edit, 28/08, 5pm. Minor adjustments enhance design's aesthetic appeal by adding a brim to the base for seamless mating. A 40mm version is now included for pocket watches. A newly designed barrel closer for wristwatch calibres has been created. Theoretically, it can be scaled up and printed for use in pocket watches. Calibration of the central hole, set at 3mm, may require enlargement with a drill bit to 2mm minimum on certain printers to accommodate the barrel arbor correctly, ensuring the barrel sits flush. This design holds barrels up to 20mm in diameter. It is intended for printing in resin, which allows for clear or translucent prints, but it should also work well with PLA or similar materials on FDM printers. The primary use of this design is snapping barrel covers onto wound mainsprings and fitted barrel arbor during servicing. This technique provides even pressure around the barrel teeth or lid, minimizing risks associated with deforming the barrel teeth or causing endfloat problems or bending the teeth. Both designs can be printed together with the hole facing up without supports. For resin prints, print solid; for FDM, use a high infill of at least 80% due to pressure applied in the middle. *UPDATE* The initial set of files uploaded contained errors and should not be used.
