The team is tackling the waste issue head-on, with a robot waste collector in development for areas heavily polluted by plastic bottles and cans. As a novice endeavor, the team is kickstarting with this robot, acknowledging that it won't single-handedly solve all environmental waste problems. Nonetheless, they're excited about its ability to identify and categorize recyclable materials like cans and bottles as a first step towards a more sustainable future. The primary goal is to deploy it as an educational tool for schools to raise awareness about the importance of proper waste management in our environment. By the end of 2020, the team aims to have a fully functional prototype ready for use. Meanwhile, they're actively building and programming it, with visible progress documented through photos. The team is working diligently on completing all the necessary 3D printed parts, which are currently missing from their files. Their ultimate objective is to finish the prototype before summer 2020 arrives.
