Wasp Costume Back Piece Split

Wasp Costume Back Piece Split

A few years ago I modified the Wasp back armor to split it into two pieces so I could attach wings. I did this in a hurry and with what was probably not the ideal software so it is not perfect, but it works. I adjusted the back piece to fit my back which I think involved making it taller and narrower. If it helps with sizing I measured the final result and the main piece is around 38cm in height (w/o shoulder pieces) and about 28cm at the widest point. I also adjusted the size and curve of the pieces that go over the shoulders. Since they were printed separate and I was in a hurry they were just attached to the main piece with tape and a strip of aluminum. I didn't need the shoulders to be functional supports as I attached the main back piece to my actual costume with velcro. The wings were cut/engraved out of acrylic with a local maker-space's laser cutter. Note: I included the main back piece split in two and whole but I only used the split version. This is from several years ago and I have many files with minor differences so these files may not be exactly the ones I printed, but they were the most recent files I have and looked correct.
