washing powder automated dosing
thingiverse
My partner and I prefer to use washing powder in our machine. In Germany, where environmental sensitivity is high, the powder comes in thin plastic pouches to minimize waste (a plus!). I was searching for an automated way to dose the necessary 50 ml of powder and transfer it into the machine without having to handle/touch the corrosive powder or mess around with a dosing scoop. The result is attached. It can be printed without supports (at least on my I3), oriented with the smaller side facing down, and screwed into the thread housing downwards. Functioning: Refill washing powder into a dry standard soda bottle (I use 1.5 l ones) using a funnel. Connect the soda bottle to the automated doser and close the automated doser outlet with the soda bottle cap (screw on). Check that all connections are tight. Hold upside down, the washing powder will flow from the bottle into the doser. Turn right way up to allow excess powder to drain back into the bottle. About 50 ml of powder will stay in the doser, the amount is defined by the length of the inner angled tube (not visible from the outside). Open the bottle cap and pour the dosed 50 ml amount into the washing machine. CAUTION: Washing powder is corrosive and damages skin/eyes/objects/etc... Always handle with great care and check for any powder leaking before using. I used the bottle_cap and PC1881_Inner_Thread from TERAHURTS and ANDREWGCROSS, many thanks.
