Washer for Gear Bearing

Washer for Gear Bearing

pinshape

This washer serves as a vital buffer between one of Emmett's Gear Bearings and a power-drill chuck, safeguarding against unwarranted collisions among planetary gears. Although not absolutely essential, this setup maintains the gear's surface in pristine condition and concurrently prevents the creation of PLA-dust. To install the washer, simply print out a single unit (approximately 1-2 minutes) and position it between the chuck and gear as depicted. Once in place, you're good to go! P.S. This was another straightforward OpenSCAD STL-butchering project that generated the desired geometry with remarkable speed by intersecting the entire bearing STL with a small cylinder. Despite its simplicity, this approach proved incredibly effective.
