Warré Hive Robber Guard
thingiverse
My Warré hive has been plagued by persistent wasp problems, prompting me to design an innovative guard system to impede their entry and enhance bee defense. This custom-built guard features 11 strategically placed 9mm entry/exit holes that significantly limit traffic flow. Prior to installing the guard, the entrance area measured a substantial 120*20mm, totaling 2400mm² of open space. With the new guard in place, the entrance area has been reduced to a much smaller 11*63.62mm, resulting in a total area of 699.82mm² – a staggering 70% reduction. The clever design of the porch roof is intended to disrupt wasps' flight paths, making it more challenging for them to navigate and reach the hive entrance. Feedback and suggestions are highly encouraged as I continue to refine this bee-friendly solution.
