Warhammer 40K - Inquisitor Sword
pinshape
This 3D printed Inquisitor sword from the Warhammer 40K universe measures 90cm (35 inches) in length, making it a perfect fit for any desk or shelf. It prints easily without support and is split into 10 parts that can be assembled on most desktop printers. All you'll need to assemble this sword are two rods and some glue, as listed in the bill of materials below. There are two options for the pommel: a skull design (seen in photos) or a more subtle option ("pommel_B.stl"). Print settings include: * 0.1-0.2mm layers * 3-4 perimeters with a 0.4mm nozzle * 30-50% infill * No supports needed * Print everything vertically, except for the guards; you may want to use brims for tall parts. I printed mine at 0.15mm layer height, 4 perimeters, and 35% infill. Bill of Materials: * 2 rods: 780mm long with an outer diameter of 5mm * Rods can be made of M5 stainless steel threaded rods, which are flexible and affordable; other metal or carbon rods will work as well. * Suitable glue for your material choice (5-minute epoxy or superglue for PLA/PETG; acetone for ABS) * Cloth or leather straps to fit your style Optional: * Spray filler (2k polyester spray filler) and body filler (Bondo) * Sandpaper * Spray primer * Paint of choice Assembly: Start by gluing the threaded rods into the end piece, either "blade_1.stl" or the pommel. Use 5-minute epoxy for best results. Add glue to touching surfaces and slide one piece after another over the rods until complete!
