Warglaive of Azzinoth
thingiverse
Iconic warglaves from the Warcraft saga wielded first by Doom Guard Commander Azzinoth and later by Illidan Stormrage during his reign in Outlands are a source of inspiration for creators like many of my friends who admired the blackhand's warhammer, also a PETG project. The handle piece printed from PLA serves as the base structure while blades printed from PETG add a sharp touch. Instructions for building these warglaves begin with printing the handle piece in three parts using Slic3r, with settings of 0.2 layer height and 10% infill. Layer 1 is printed at 0.25 thickness for added stability. Automatic support for both the main handle and lid helps secure the entire assembly. Next, print the blades from PETG with a 0.3 layer height and 5 solid bottom layers to provide maximum durability. Perimeters of 3 and no infill ensure minimal structural weakness. Once assembled, follow these steps: Glue the blade parts together and drill holes for LED's at each end. Connect them to the handle using adhesive and place wires with a power switch in the handle lid below the "ropes." I powered mine using two AAs but consider other available holders as an option. The result is a glowing effect created by four LED lights placed within the blade tips.
