Warframe: Lotus Emblem

I was thrilled to take on the prompt of creating a design from a 2D canvas image, and as a self-proclaimed nerd, I decided to bring my favorite video game character, Lotus from Warframe, to life in three dimensions. To get started, I broke down each individual shape within the emblem into its own separate entity, which allowed me to extrude them to varying levels of depth. This process not only added complexity to the design but also provided a more nuanced visual representation. One of the challenges I faced was dealing with the extensive use of curves that varied in slope throughout the design. Rather than burdening my computer with complex math and splines, I opted for a different approach. I zoomed in on the canvas image and carefully crafted many small straight lines to follow the curves more accurately. This method proved to be easier on my computer's processing power, but it did result in slightly visible lines when viewed under direct light. The end result was well worth the extra effort, as the design came together seamlessly, showcasing the intricate details of Lotus' emblem in a way that would have been impossible with traditional curved lines.
