I've designed some custom shelves for my Warhammer 40K model painting supplies, including paints from various manufacturers. The system allows you to mount two shelves on either side of a wall and connect them with chains. For instance, you can create a configuration like this: 2-step wall, shelves, 2-step wall, shelves, and another 2-step wall. To keep everything in place, use super glue or a suitable adhesive for your chosen filament. Step Wall Options: * 2 Step * 3 Step * 4 Step * 2 Step - Vallejo/similar Bottle Height Wall-Mounting Wall Options: * 1 Shelf Wall * 2 Shelf Wall * 3 Shelf Wall * 4 Shelf Wall Shelf Options & Common Paint Bottles: * 6-bottle 26mm diameter - Vallejo * 6-bottle 26mm diameter, tall back - Vallejo * 5-bottle 34mm diameter - GW / Citadel * 5-bottle 34mm diameter, tall back - GW / Citadel * 4-bottle 36mm diameter - Tamiya & Vellejo Acrylic Metal Color * 5-bottle 34mm square - Revell Aqua * Variable Height Brush/Tool Rack (use "shelf-brush-*" files) * 2-Step Deep Box (takes up two steps, file called "shelf-box.stl") * 1-Step Flat Shelf * 2-Step Deep Flat Shelf (takes up two steps, file called "shelf-deep-flat.stl") * Four rounded inside corner storage shelves (takes up three steps) * One squared inside corner storage shelf (takes up three steps) The 6-bottle 26mm diameter shelves fit the 17 ml Vallejo paint dropper bottles and similar-sized droppers. The tall-back version is primarily useful for wall-mounting walls. The 5-bottle 34mm diameter shelves fit all Citadel (Games Workshop) paint bottles, including Shade, Texture, and Contrast bottles since they share the same diameter. Again, the tall-back version is mostly helpful for wall-mounting walls. The 4-bottle 36mm diameter shelves fit Tamiya acrylic paint bottles and Vallejo Acrylic Metal airbrush paint bottles. The 5-bottle 34mm square shelves fit Revell Aqua paint bottles. Wall-mounting walls can be flipped to have the screw hole on either side. They feature angled bottle placement at 45 degrees, designed specifically for paint bottle shelves (not brushes, tools, or other shelves). Variable Height Brush/Tool Rack This rack holds up to 16 paintbrushes, one hobby knife handle, and pliers/cutters. You will need to print the bottom and top parts. The number of middle parts printed determines shelf height. I suggest printing one of each (top, middle, bottom) for a 3-shelf height rack. The tall bottom brush shelf replaces a middle & bottom brush shelf, providing deeper slots for paintbrush handles. Corner Storage Shelves These offer a way to store items in corners between sets of straight shelves. Include at least one 'Corner Foot' in the back edge of corner storage shelves to increase strength. These are simple 5 mm tall by 10 mm wide cylinders. Updates * 10/23/20: Realized that my earlier added 4-bottle shelf also fits Tamiya paint bottles, a happy coincidence! I modified some wording to reflect the dimensions of each bottle shelf. * 10/23/20: Added a 1 4-bottle shelf for Vallejo's Acrylic Metal Color Airbrush paints and included 3-shelf and 4-shelf wall-mounted walls. * 10/20/20: Added a 5 GW bottle shelf with taller back and included the 1-shelf and 2-shelf wall-mounted walls. I plan to add more wall-mounted walls later. * 8/10/20: Added 5 different Corner Storage shelves, which require at least a 3-step wall. Four of them are rounded, and the fifth is squared off in the back corner. These should all come with the Corner Foot to increase strength. * 6/1/20: Added a 5-bottle/box shelf for Revell Aqua paints. The tolerances are .5 mm from what was shared with me on their size, but I'm told they fit well. * 5/12/20: The paintbrush shelves now feature a built-in guide to help them fit together smoothly. The overhang in the mid and top pieces is only 1.6mm wide, so nearly all printers' bridging should work without supports.
