DND mini protected box

Disclaimer: I have not tried the increased tolerance version of the catch and the latch, but I am fairly confident they will work.My printers are all very well calibrated so you may need to print the version with increased tolerance if yours isn't.I prefer a nice tight fit, so I like to keep the tolerances as small as possible. I just think it looks nice and everything works smoothly.Instructions:parts:latch * 1catch * 2box * 1lid * 1Mechanical pencil springs (or any other 4 x 4 x 13 mm spring) * 2Super glue (For this project I recommend the super glue gel so it's not runny) You can get it at the dollar tree.=, just a littleMachine oil (optional), just a littlepiece of foam (this can be gotten at the dollar tree) * 1Everything can be printed in the orientation the file is in and no supports are needed.Assembly:Drop the two springs into their sockets on either side of the hole for the latch, place them in vertically.Try to put the latch into the hole so that the wedges face the box.Try the latch a few times making sure you don't let it completely slide out of the hole.If it doesn't slide freely some light sanding may be needed.Once you are happy with the way the latch works test it with the lid making sure it locks smoothly into place.Then, remove the latch and put some machine oil on it so it slides smoothly, then reassemble the latch.Now put the lid on the box as you normally would and carefully place the two catches into place in the slots on the lid above the latch.Once you have dry fit everything and are happy with the way it functions remove the two catches, they should easily come outPut a very small drop of glue on both side of the latch, if you are not using gel glue you may want to slightly dampen the surface so that the glue dries faster and doesn't run. To do this I recommend breathing lightly on the surface, as you would to clean your glasses, right before applying the glue.DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH GLUE OR YOU MAY GLUE THE LID ON, OR GLUE THE LATCH IN PLACE!Then set the two catches into place using the lid for your guide. You can glue the catches one at a time to make it easier.As the glue dries you can carefully move the latch up and down and very carefully remove the lid to be sure you don't accidently glue them in place. Make sure you don't move the catches out of place while doing so.Once both catches are glued in place, you're all done.
