Wankel Engine Model
thingiverse
Model Wankel engine (pistonless rotary epitrochoid engine with 3 apex). There are tolerances designed into it, so don't scale down too much. The rotor parts are held together by a printed screw; no glue. I found this amazing tutorial for epitrochoid rotary engines by a genius on grabcad and I always wanted to design one, so here one is. The person included an amazing sheets document where you input some information (such as # of apexes) and it outputs a series of 100 coordinates that you can save as a .csv (comma separated values) file. Then, using Fusion360's add-on called importSplineCSV, you can create a sketch and spline using the coordinates. Pretty cool stuff because it exactly traces the epitrochiod shape necessary for the model, there is no approximation. I suggest you check it out if you are interested: https://grabcad.com/tutorials/how-to-design-a-wankel-or-any-other-rotary-engine
