Wanhao PSU vented cover
thingiverse
I installed the Wanhao 120mm PSU cover, but still experienced excessive noise from my power supply fan. The 120mm should provide sufficient airflow for both the control box and power supply, so I removed the fan from the power supply. To maintain a good airflow and keep stray wires out of the power supply, I replaced the original cover with this vented version. There are two versions of case hooks available: one is 3mm thick, while the other is 1mm thick. Since I preferred a more solid cover, I opted for the 3mm version. To attach it to the case, I simply bent out the tabs and hooked them onto the corresponding hooks. When working with a power supply, be aware that modifying it may void its warranty and poses a risk of electrical shock. Only attempt this upgrade if your unit is unplugged from power and you are confident in what you're doing. To ensure continuity, transfer the wiring diagram sticker from the old cover to the new one if desired. The 123d files have been included for those who wish to customize the design further.
