WanHao Printer 3d - Guide Adapter

The Wanhao printer relies on guides, known as tubes, to route filament from the spool directly into the extruder. This design prevents the filament from snapping or breaking during use. However, a slight problem arises because these guides cannot snugly fit inside the holes of the extruder itself. This dilemma calls for an auxiliary part that effectively seals the gap between the guide and the extruder, allowing them to connect seamlessly once again. Please note that this adaptation might not address a concern specific to only my printer, but you should inspect your own Wanhao machine if similar issues persist. Notwithstanding, this component proved straightforward and appears to be functioning as intended in my test prints. For optimal results, I utilized PLA and incorporated Simplify 3D for splicing purposes. I successfully printed two variants of the model: one without supports and another with varying levels of structural reinforcement, both resulting in fitting pieces. Utilizing OpenSCad allowed me to craft this solution from scratch; however, getting accurate dimensions took a little experimentation via trial and error before perfecting my initial model sizes. Through this iterative process, I arrived at an accurate replica for effective print preparation.
