Wanhao/Monoprice laser mounting bracket
thingiverse
Yet another laser mount designed for Wanhao/Monoprice V2.1 printers, utilizing magnets for secure installation and removal, although it's unclear if this approach is entirely safe. This bracket cleverly exploits the location of the original hot-end cooling fan. Additionally, there's a spot to install a SPDT switch, adding an extra layer of laser safety during startup. **Proceed with caution!** The user assumes all risks associated with damage to themselves, their property, or others. Class IV lasers are not toys and demand utmost care; wear suitable eye protection at all times. Have fun while being meticulous about your safety precautions. Your feedback is welcome if you decide to create one of these laser mounts and share your experience. On January 23rd, 2018, the first test burn was conducted on 1/4" plywood featuring an Overwatch symbol. This project involved importing an image into FreeCAD, carefully tracing it (no pun intended), and padding it to 0.25mm. Cura handled the rest of the process. After managing to get the "Inkscape method" working that morning, further testing will be conducted in the evening, with results to be shared soon. So far, however, the bracket has proven remarkably sturdy even at elevated speeds.
