Wanhao i3 Standalone Z-stop extender (Fully 3D printed)
thingiverse
No nuts, bolts, or any other accessory needed except your 3D printer! Just download, print, attach, re-level, and you're done! Upon installing a glass bed (from Wanhao), I found that the bed surface is now higher than the hot end tip... and I couldn't adjust it anymore using the bed screws or by re-positioning the Z-endstop. I also didn't have M2s and M3 screws, so making the available endstops in Thingiverse would be hard. So I thought of a simple solution: if you can't raise the endstop, lower the carriage! This very simple standalone Z-stop extender is designed to allow the endstop to click at a higher Z, giving you the clearance you need for installing glass plates. Print then install this by pushing it upward through one side of the x-motor carriage (the one along the y-axis: see orange arrows on the photos). Make sure that you position it so when the X-axis lowers, this thing would hit the Z-stop instead of the X-motor carriage. If it doesn't fit, scale it up slightly along the X axis (or Y, depending on your slicer) to widen the gap, or leave a comment so I can manually resize the gap. To increase/decrease the Z-clearance, scale it up/down by 5%. This extender will give you 3-6mm additional clearance. Re-level your hot bed after installation.
