A couple of mounts for 10mm hex pneumatic fittings for PTFE tube are perfect for creating a 'bowden style' filament guide; this leads to much more uniform extrusion, making it a worthwhile investment. You can achieve the same results without the pneumatic fittings, but they look better in my opinion. Both fittings are designed to be press fit into place, so you may need to sand down the inside slightly depending on your printer's tolerance and fitting variations. The extruder guide is attached to the carriage just above the extruder inlet using the original screws. I have a Balco Touch printer, which is essentially a Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus clone; however, this design will likely fit other models as well. The frame mount has been hot glued into place since there are no screw fittings in that area where I wanted to install it. V2: I've noticed some issues with the extruder guide. The entire thing flexes a bit during retractions, so I've thickened the part up slightly; this could also be solved by increasing shells and infill density. The press fit isn't entirely reliable, and attaching the printer with the pneumatic fitting in place is difficult, so I've added a hole for a 2mm set screw and loosened the fit accordingly.
