Wanhao i3 Filament Guide

Wanhao i3 Filament Guide

thingiverse

This is a custom filament guide for my Wanhao i3 V2 printer, angled at 18 degrees to get around the Z-brace mod that was obstructing my filament flow. I designed this because the stock setup wasn't working out for me. The filament comes from the spool on the power supply and passes through this guide before reaching the extruder. The hole is carefully chamfered from 7mm down to 3.5mm so a PTFE tube can be inserted for smooth feeding, but it can also work without one. To install, use M3 x 10mm screws on the left side of the printer. You might manage with the stock M3 x 5mm screws that came with your printer, but I'm not sure if they'll securely thread into place. This design was inspired by this thing (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:904146) and should be printed with these settings: Printer: Wanhao i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Make sure to print at high infill, especially if you're not using a PTFE tube. Print this standing upright without supports and ensure the mounting holes are closest to the print bed.
