Here we go again with the thing-thing-a-tinke-ring...\nUpdate 2016-09-06:\nMade some minor changes and added a fan guard/grill version that's sure to impress...\nUpdate 2016-08-27:\nCreated an alternative version called i3 FanDoor Scissor Edition (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1739870) - it's a game-changer!\nUpdate 2016-08-17:\nI tweaked the design to get the fan closer to the heatsink, giving you more room and reducing the risk of hitting the printer frame.\nThe onus is on you to position the hinge correctly when screwing it onto the printer, so be sure to take your time.\nUpdate 2016-08-16:\nI'm streamlining this design and will post the updated version soon - stay tuned...\nWhat's this thing all about?\nIt's a door-hinge (optionally spring-loaded) for the Wanhao Duplicator i3 feeder/extruder fan that fits both 40mm and 50mm fans with variable depths.\nThe design should clear the stock fan and blower duct without any issues, giving you easy access to the extruder's heatsink and screws.\nHow do I use it?\nJust press the hinge up and swing it around - voila! You'll be able to access the extruder's heatsink and screws in no time.\nWhat do I need?\nYou'll require 2x (optional) 3mm shorter replacement screws for the heatsink/feeder/steppermotor, but don't worry if you can't find them - I've also created a spacer that adds an extra 7mm to the stock plastic plug distancers.\nThis means you might be able to reuse the long original screws for the heatsink/feeder/steppermotor, although this will position the fan further from the heatsink than optimal.\nIn reality, though, this shouldn't make a noticeable difference in cooling performance.\nYou'll also need 3x suitable longer 3mm screws (make sure one is long enough to give room for lifting the hinge up), 1x nyloc nut, and 2x suitable screws for the fan itself - or feel free to get creative with small cable-ties or a piece of string!\nOptional features include adding a spring, washer, and longer screw for a spring-loaded hinge, or using a sprint instead of a screw to make the fan easily removable.\nHave fun fighting that pesky clogged stock PTFE hotend - it's a real pain in the neck!\nLater:\nI might just add an alternative fan bracket for those who want a fan-guard or maybe a dust filter holder on it, depending on how much space I have left on the side before the fan hits the frame of the printer.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: Duplicator i3 Ultra\nRafts: No\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: 0.2mm max\nInfill: 100%\nHow I Designed This\nA door hit me, and then it hit me... let's make a door that hits the spot!
