Wanhao i3 Fan Spacer/Grill v2
thingiverse
Improved version of the original spacer/grill is now available. It offers more customization options and better hole angling for fans and motors of different widths. To create your own STLs, you'll need OpenSCAD 2015.03. This block is designed to clamp around your fan and slot into the heatsink while providing angled mounting screws that V1 lacked. When disassembling the extruder, the little round spacers won't roll all over the place. Required Printed Parts: 2x M3x10 or KA30x10 or #4x1/2 wood screws 2x M3x45 (5mm longer than default extruder screws) Newly Added Support: 4010 fans with insets (standard 11mm) 4010 fans without insets (flat 11mm) 4020 scythe fans with reduced inset (scythe 20.2mm) Assembly Instructions: Step 1: Place the block on a flat surface and start screwing in M3 or #4 screws. Step 2: Add your fan, making sure to label it properly. Step 3: Tighten the clamp on top for secure placement. Step 4: Add the heatsink and fins for better heat dissipation. Step 5: Insert M3x45 screws from underneath. Be patient as they may be difficult to tighten; alternate between them if necessary. Step 6: Put screws through the aluminum block into the motor. Step 7: Find a more creative use for those round spacers. Comparison with V1: Left: V1 (concave rounding) Right: V2 (convex rounding) The whole family, from left to right: V1, V2 standard 11mm, V2 flat 11mm, V2 scythe 20.2mm
