Wanhao i3 Duplicator Spool Holder
thingiverse
Description Yet another versatile spool holder using high-performance 608Z bearings is designed to accommodate spools of any diameter down to 150 mm by utilizing two independently movable pieces that adapt seamlessly to the spool's size. Printing To print this design, you will need to create four rollers and two locks, each with a specific orientation: one left and one right. Please note that Thingiverse OBJ files are typically rotated 90 degrees clockwise around the X axis for display purposes only. To ensure smooth printing, rotate the parts as needed in your slicer software to print them flat. Assembly The assembly process is straightforward and requires four M5x20 bolts with nuts, six M3x20 bolts with nuts (which can be used optionally), four 608Z skateboard bearings, and supports that are provided in every hole. To remove the supports, use a screw with moderate pressure or pliers carefully to avoid breaking them. To install the bearings into their rollers, a rubber mallet or a hammer may come in handy. If needed, print the rollers slightly larger for a tight fit without risking plastic failure. Then assemble the two pieces using 5mm screws and secure each piece on the gantry by starting from the top rear and clipping it in place. This model is fully compatible with my new filament guide design. The creation of this thing was made possible through Tinkercad, and you can edit it here. Enjoy printing! Print Settings Printer: Wanhao i3 Duplicator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 40% or more Notes: Supports are provided in the model files. Post-Printing After printing, pop out the supports using a screw to ensure a smooth and secure finish.
