Wanhao i3 Cube Frame
thingiverse
This is a front cube frame for the Wanhao Duplicator i3, built with square cross-section aluminium profiles. It incorporates ideas from the excellent Z-Braces mod (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:921948). Required Materials: * 8mm threaded rod * 4 x 8mm nuts * 20mm x 20mm Aluminium extrusion profile, cut to length (+/- 1mm): + 4 x 154mm bars (horizontal/bottom) + 2 x 331mm bars (vertical) + 1 x 365mm bar (horizontal/top) 22 M3 nuts are also required, with lengths greater than 10mm. The original nuts were too short at 6mm or 8mm. UPDATE 1: Modified top_left and top_right plates to allow more room for the 8mm nut. Added length of bars in summary. Print Settings: * Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 2 * Infill: 75% * Notes: No supports needed. Expect some plates to break when hammering them to the aluminium profile, but if done gently, infill can be lowered. Post-Printing Instructions: Step 1: Cut the aluminium extrusion (20mm x 20mm) to length and mount the tubes with connecting joints and plates (first bottom then top). Step 2: Screw the bottom left or right hand side to the Wanhao frame (see photo). Carefully clamp the original frame! Repeat with right or left hand side. Step 3: Install upper part of the frame. Step 4: Cut the threaded rod to length and screw it to both sides. Use a carpenter's square.
