<p>I have a variety of filament spools, some have only a 10mm hole, most are wider than the holder, I also wanted a guide and tension control for the filament, these have a couple of holes underneath the front that take 6mm of a 3mm screw thread.</p> <p>Clips work surprisingly well, I did 3 test parts before settling on a 1mm clearance.</p> <p>Added a kit for half rollers, if you have a failed one then print a single.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer Brand:</strong></p> <p>Wanhao</p> <p class="detail-setting printer"><strong>Printer: </strong> <div><p>Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus</p></div> <p><strong>Rafts:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p class="detail-setting supports"><strong>Supports: </strong> <div><p>Yes</p></div> <p><strong>Resolution:</strong></p> <p>0.3</p> <p class="detail-setting infill"><strong>Infill: </strong> <div><p>20%</p></div> <p><strong>Notes:</strong></p> <p>I used PLA for this one, printed the mounts on their sides to get strength in the front clip, I might do a version 2 and reduce the size of the sides which is not needed imo, the rollers should hold the filament reel steady.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p>File pulley halves for a few seconds to remove high spots and superglue together.</p> <p>Smoothed inside edges of holder and pulleys slightly till they were nice and smooth.</p> <p>If you want to use the screw holes (designed at 2.5mm) I ran a 3mm drill/tap in a pin vice and had a great result for a tapped hole in just a few seconds per hole.
