This is my design of a Wanhao Duplicator i3 (v2) back plate for use with 70mm or 80mm fans - your choice. Mod recommendations: 1) Remove the cover with the fan turned off and install without it. 2) For an 80mm back plate, you'll need to cut the inner side of the fan body to fit the back plate mounting holes. 3) You may have to trim some plastic from a switch to make it fit. 4) Get a reobus (fan speed controller), set the speed to 30-40% - and you won't hear it anymore. 5) You'll need longer M3x10 screws. What you get after modding: Absolutely quiet control block! The complete printer is now just -20dbi of noise while printing, compared to the stock version. Print settings: Printer: Wanhao i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 50% Notes: If you're not in a hurry, use 50% + infill for added sturdiness.
