Wanhao Duplicator i3 Y Axis Pulley
thingiverse
I'm experiencing serious issues with my Y idler pulley's bearings, and it's taking forever for my 3D store to obtain a replacement. I created this temporary fix, knowing full well that it won't last long. To get it apart, I had to use two files, which involved applying Lubriplate between the sleeve and pulley. White lithium grease should work perfectly in its place. To ensure proper alignment, I added one flat washer between the hex screw and sleeve (visible on the right side when looking down) and two washers on the left between the sleeve and bracket on the front cross member. I've got the popular Z Brace mod installed along with a zip-tied Y pulley. When I put a new zip tie on the hex screw, it didn't like the added tension against the sleeve and pulley (resulting in rapid movements), so I removed it until I can get an actual pulley with ball bearings. My need for a warranty part and completing 3D Hubs orders seems to be low on my store's list of priorities. Hopefully, this will suffice as a temporary fix until I receive the replacement. Upon taking a picture of the pulley installed, I realized that the print quality is subpar. This was exactly why I needed it in the first place - my worn-out Y pulley was causing problems. I designed this using Sketchup Pro 2016.
