One of the major drawbacks of the stock i3 Plus design is its positioning of the wiring bracket behind the extruder head. This takes up two lower holes in the bearing block that are frequently used by custom cooling solutions. This upgrade relocates the bracket to the upper holes, freeing up space for other cooling options like the CiiCooler (pictured) and Cobra. Post-Printing Bearing Block Threading If necessary, tap the bearing block to M4 x 0.7. On my i3 Plus, the threads were missing or poorly cut. I recommend using a printed bearing block and an LM8LUU bearing in place of the stock one for optimal performance. Bracket Threading Tap the small (bottom and rear) holes to M3 x 0.5. Hardware 2 M4 x 10mm screws (bracket to bearing block) 2 M3 x 10mm screws (circuit board to bracket) Important Considerations Make sure to re-use the little plastic bushing on the screws holding the circuit board down to prevent damage to the board coating. Also, ensure a clear gap between the M4 screw heads and the board. Be cautious with the wiring, as it may not be long enough to accommodate this position in your i3 Plus.
