In my honest opinion, the Dupilcator i3 is a pretty good-looking machine, thanks to its metal frame and matte black powder coating - although, it does have exposed wires at the top of the gantry that need some cover. I built this casing to hide those exposed wires.\nAlso...\nThe filament drive motor gets very hot in operation. This casing also redirects airflow from the side fan heat sink over the filament drive motor, providing a bit more cooling.\nDepending on your chosen fan and cooler shroud, there may be interference at the bottom of this cover.\nNEW VERSION: V2\nI've made some improvements:\nas added a slot for near full Z dimension envelope travel (gained about 1.5" over V1).\nto provide extra reinforcement in critical areas,\nenhanced protection with extra coverage in key zones.\nI recommend printing vertically with supports, at least on horizontal parts. Be sure to avoid putting software supports through the vent holes if you can.
