Small Edit...\r\nMost D9's use only 3 screws to hold the upper fan in place.\r\nFour holes remain in the model for aesthetics.\r\n\r\nMy blower has been working fantastically for months and it's just a trial PLA print!\r\n\r\nThere are several files here, simply print the one with the highest number - V12 as of now.\r\nV12 should fix issues seen with holes offset slightly on the extruder.\r\n\r\nThis top fan replacement is designed for the Wanhao Duplicator 9. The heat break fan isn't strong enough for long prints, so this blower will keep things cooler and prevent heat creep.\r\n\r\nIt uses standard radial fans like the one shown in the image.\r\n\r\nYou'll need:\r\nThree M3 x 12 Allen Key Bolts / screws (re-use the original ones!)\r\nOne M3 x 25 Allen Key Bolt / screw (to lock the blower in place)\r\n\r\nThis design allows you to re-use the four existing Allen key screws.\r\n\r\nThe front two holes are snug, with a diameter of 5.5mm. The rear two, taller holes have been made larger, at 6mm diameter. On my printer, they're a bit tight, but will fit if you apply some force or drill them slightly to about 8mm from the bottom.\r\n\r\nCheck out the REV 4 pictures for reference.\r\n\r\nMy printer has 15.5-16.5mm clearance behind the stepper motor and X carriage, so this print at 15mm thickness should fit perfectly. If it doesn't, loosen the screws holding the large red parts together, insert the blower, then tighten them back.\r\n\r\nI'm open to discussing commercial use of this device.\r\n\r\nThanks to Thingiverse for providing a model that helped refine my design.\r\n\r\nThings remaining:\r\nInvestigate airflow optimization.\r\n\r\nRevision History - \r\nRev 4: Original Upload, functional but flimsy.\r\nRev 6: Uploaded, improved fan screw holder supports, cosmetic changes.\r\nRev 7: Minor adjustments, vertical slot moved forward for better alignment. Screw holes changed to M3 x 25. Filled in area on the right to aid bed adhesion.\r\nRev 8: Cosmetic tweaks only.\r\nRev 9: Rear wall adjusted to help airflow.\r\nRev 10: Adjustments made for Wanhao manufacturing variations. Screw holes enlarged and locations changed. Length reduced by 1mm for easier fitting.\r\nRev 11: Cosmetic changes, alignment adjustments of holes, increased screw holes to 4mm for M3 'free play'. Walls slimmed down on rear, front, and right side for better fitment.\r\nRev 12: Internal parts fattened up, especially at the tall back side as walls were too thin when printed. Should be at least two widths thick now!
