Here is a replacement for those tiny nuts that secure the spools to the rods on the back of your Wanhao Duplicator 4. You might be pleased to know this modification will likely work with other printers too - because let's face it, those things are incredibly easy to lose! This customized nut design comes straight from the fabulous NUT JOB project created by the brilliant mike_linus. With an outer diameter of 37 mm (flat to flat) and a thickness of 6 mm, this custom nut boasts an inner diameter of 30 mm (amplified to 31.2 mm for accurate printing at 30 mm). It also sports thread steps of 1.5 mm in size, coupled with the optimal 45-degree thread angles. Printing is straightforward: Print with zero support structures or raft. Opting for a layer thickness of 0.2 mm proves an excellent choice.
