WANHAO Di3 - X-Axis Ratchet Strap Tensioner and Deflector v1.0 & v2.0
thingiverse
---- Update v2.0 ---- A brand new edition of my X-Axis Ratchet Strap Tensioner (v2.0) is out now, featuring a centered position that ensures the strap never gets bent as the X-Axis moves. Be aware that if you opt for this version, you'll need to modify your X-Axis upper bearing blocks so the strap doesn't rub on them. There's already plenty of those mods available on Thingiverse, but I recommend checking out this one (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1172838). This is my remix of PlasticCrow's "X- Axis Belt Mounting Bracket", with a key modification to the number of teeth for the ratchet - now at 16 instead of 12. Additionally, I've added a knurled wheel on top of the ratchet and a hold-down bolt (visible in the section view picture) to keep everything securely in place. I made this assumption since the original design might have had issues with the ratchet popping out, although I haven't tested it myself. To address the infamous WDi3 Bearing Block strap rubbing issue, I've added two arms on either side for attaching (2) 10mm OD x 5mm ID x 4mm Thick bearings. You can see this in the assembly picture. I've also included a version designed specifically for those who have already resolved the Bearing Block issue. Here's a link to check it out in action: https://youtu.be/pFQsz0o1K0A
