V9 - The V8 STL was a bit off and didn't work properly.\r\nI've now added notches in the part that fits on top of the extrusion - AND made the inset 2mm shallower to prevent any issues with T-Nuts locking into place using this bracket.\r\nThere should be no problems with T-Nuts now, thanks to these modifications.\r\nPRINT THIS AT 10% SCALE\r\n\r\nNote, it's still a bit of a challenge to get the Horizontal T-Nuts in, but mine has been running smoothly for a long time without them....\r\n\r\nV8 - I've altered the top 'extrusion' slot part to make it much shallower. This allows T-Nuts with a taller T part to grip the bracket better.\r\n\r\ni.e. the bracket bit now doesn't sit as deep into the extrusion as it previously did, which is a good thing.\r\n\r\nV7 - Final version. Fits perfectly for me, and I'm confident it will work for you too.\r\nFeedback is appreciated if there are any issues, so please let me know.\r\n\r\nhttps://bleughbleugh.wordpress.com/2019/03/04/wanhao-d9-poor-y-axis-design-and-free-printable-fix/\r\n\r\nSimply put.........this is an ESSENTIAL UPGRADE for anyone with a Duplicator 9 printer.\r\nIf you don't use this bracket, your bed will be pulled down when it moves from front to back, which can affect your prints and ability to level the bed.\r\nYou'll also experience slight ringing as the standard plastic bracket flexes during sharper bed movements.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nImproved stepper motor mount for the Duplicator 9 printer\r\nSignificantly stiffer than the on-printer plastic version, which is what most printers come with (earlier ones had a metal one)\r\n\r\nThis also fixes a potential issue with the factory bracket being about 6mm too low, making the belt slope down from front to rear.\r\nThis ‘slope’ will lead to variable tension in the belt as the bed is a fixed height, there will be less tension at the front where the bed belt holder is level with the front idler.\r\nThere will be more tension at the back where the stepper driver is 6mm lower than the bed holder , making the belt have to ‘stretch’ further.\r\n\r\nI don’t know how this affects prints, but it’s not ideal.\r\nThis bracket corrects the slope, now the bottom of the belt off the stepper driver is level with the bottom of the belt on the front idler.\r\n\r\n\r\nJust to stress again,\r\nThe earliest versions of the printer had a sturdy metal bracket\r\nLater versions seem to have a plastic one that's a little flexible\r\n\r\n\r\nSummary - The D9 Y axis belt isn't level, the top belt is NOT parallel with the bottom. It's close to parallel with the bed at the front of the printer. it's quite angled at the back of the printer.\r\n\r\nSee pictures that I've added to make this clearer. As the bed is driven to the back, the tension on the belt pulls it down, stretches the belt and flexes the bracket.\r\nAs it moves to the front, the tension becomes less.\r\n\r\n
