Wanhao D6 Squash Ball Feet
thingiverse
Update 12/11/18: I have removed some of the bottom part because a kind user, Taerog, informed me that the softer balls (I use double yellow dot) squash down so much that the mount nearly touches the surface, making the mount somewhat pointless. I have included pictures of how I use supports to print this, as well as the Simplify3D factory file with supports for the D6, so you don't have to manually place them yourself. If you've already printed them, I have found that a small piece of foam or even tissue placed on top of the ball can help push it down a bit, which solves this issue. Original post: I first encountered these for the Creality CR-10 and 10S. They make a huge difference in noise vibration, which carries through to the counter/table they're sitting on. I've made these for the Duplicator i3, and it made a big difference in the noise carrying throughout the house. I have enclosed pictures of the recommended print orientation and where I placed supports in S3D. For those using S3D, I have also included an FFF file of the model with supports I placed for you. Note: The type of balls recommended are squash balls, double yellow type. In the US, they're the same as the balls used for Racketball. Any feedback is welcome. Enjoy! 0.2 Layer 5 Top and Bottom Layers 3 Walls 20% Infil (10% would probably be fine; strength can come from the walls) Use the Grid infill or whatever is quickest. The strength comes from the 3 walls Supports - Yes Note: Special thanks to Taerog for the infill and walls suggestions.
