Wanhao Cooling Fan

Derived from Thumber's design, this remix reduces support requirements, making it simpler to print and attach. It prints in two parts: a backplate separating from a duct section. A dedicated indent for shielding prevents slowdown issues reported by others. The same turbo fan used in the original is integrated into this version. Instructions: Follow the original setup process with slight adjustments. Inside the duct, there's minimal support to remove. I found success printing supports in a different color to ensure all of it can be removed easily. Upon completion, slide the duct section together just as before and lock the plate firmly into place. Mount the fan first and turn it on while moving towards the extruder stepper; observe the slowdown. I believe this issue arises from induced drag caused by eddy currents within the stepper windings. Eddy currents can cause issues like a slowed fan. Some have found success using sheets of aluminum foil, but I discovered that cutting a 40mm disc from the bottom of an aluminum can and applying it proves far more effective; thus, this feature has been implemented in the backplate design. Connecting power across the Mightyboard's (clone) 'CS-FAN' connector for straightforward fan control is highly recommended. Nonetheless, easily directing both fans to turn on along with extruder stepper fans by incorporating this configuration into the setup. This method of linking and connecting these components effectively achieves what you might be aiming for.
