Walschaerts Valve Gear Demonstrator (WIP)

Walschaerts Valve Gear Demonstrator (WIP)

I am planning to redo this soon. --UPDATE-- I am working on making a DXF set for this, so that it can be laser cut by people who have one. It will be quicker, more accurate, and easier than trying to 3D print it. A model of Walschaerts Valve Gear used in steam locomotives is included. All base components are individually included, including the pins that hold them together. The pins are just placeholders really. I recommend using actual metal pins or adjusting the design slightly so the pins work better. Large gaps have been left between components so that inaccuracies in a 3D print can be made up for. Better to have parts that fit loose rather than not fit at all. Also included is the base Fusion 360 Model, which allows you to make adjustments if you wish or see the process of how it was made. The expansion link is quite roughly done and functional but not pretty or precise. I have marked the design a Work in Progress because I am currently attempting to 3D Print it myself just to see if it actually works. No guarantee that it does currently. Once I see how it all goes, I will update the page accordingly. The scale is such that it can be printed on an Ultimaker 2 Extended+, which is the printer I use. I recommend using a wooden base plate with tighter tolerances than what I have used here. Made in Fusion 360. If you want the design modified in any way, let me know and I will see what I can do.
