"Wally" DIY wall box for electric vehicle
thingiverse
This is a project that has been taking up my time for quite some time now: designing and building a 3D printed wallbox for charging our electric car. It consists of a fixed base part with all the electronics and wiring, including an EVSE board and a 32A contactor/relay, and a cover on top. The design incorporates a small DIN rail inside to accommodate all required parts, plus a fuse holder and a switch on the side. Currently, it is designed for use with a fixed type 2 charging cable. My goal was to keep the wallbox very compact, with outer dimensions of only 160mm x 160mm x 90mm. The picture shows Wally 1.0, which has been in operation for almost a year now. It was printed in PLA in black and blue. The plug holder/rest used in the picture can be downloaded here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2705321, and the EVSE DIN rail holder is available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2723086. If anyone wants to build one, just let me know. I can provide a list of parts that were used in its construction. Thanks!
