Wallony Planter Automation Expansion Pack
thingiverse
These are the components needed to transform a Wallony planter into a standalone self-watering garden attached to a board, concealing its watering mechanism - a 12v peristaltic pump. - Top planters with holes in the back instead of at the top - "Sprinkler" insert - Left and right drainage gutters - Y-shaped tubing splitter - Peristaltic pump mount for the watering system You'll have to secure the planters onto the board, drill holes behind the top and below the bottom planters, then connect a pump wired to any desired location. I've hooked mine up to a Raspberry Pi Zero running the automated gardener script from an equivalent project. Water is pumped into the sprinkler and flows out through the drains with 1/4 in silicone tubing into a container. I added microfiber to the drain holes for directing water flow and preventing splashing, also using acetone vapor to seal all tube joints with hot glue to prevent leaks.
